Dubrovnik is one of the most recognisable cities on the Adriatic and in the whole Mediterranean. Located in southern Croatia, it is surrounded by mighty medieval walls that are among the best preserved in Europe. The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a unique example of urban planning and architecture. The main street, Stradun, runs from Pile to Ploče and is the heart of city life.
A walk along the city walls offers unforgettable views of the sea, towers and bell towers. Dubrovnik gained global fame as "King's Landing" in Game of Thrones. Local restaurants serve excellent seafood and Dalmatian wines.
The islands of Lokrum, Koločep and Lopud are ideal for day trips by boat. A cable car climbs Mount Srđ for spectacular panoramic views of the city and the sea. Every July and August the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, one of Europe's most prestigious, takes place. Dubrovnik is a city that leaves a lasting memory and attracts visitors from all over the world.
