Kotor is one of the most fascinating towns in Montenegro and the entire Adriatic. Set at the far end of the Bay of Kotor, it is surrounded by high mountains mirrored in the sea. Its old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to its exceptionally well-preserved Venetian architecture. The streets of the old town form a labyrinth of narrow alleys, squares and hidden churches.
Kotor's walls climb Mount St John to a height of about 1,350 metres. The climb along the walls offers spectacular views of the town, the bay and the surrounding mountains. Kotor is known for its maritime tradition and its Maritime Museum with a rich collection.
Every year international festivals bring artists from around the world. The Cathedral of St Tryphon is the symbol of the town and one of the oldest monuments on the Adriatic. Local cuisine offers seafood and traditional Montenegrin specialities. Kotor is a true gem that unites nature, history and culture.
