Bjelašnica is one of the most popular mountains in Bosnia and Herzegovina, just half an hour from Sarajevo. Its highest peak reaches 2,067 metres and offers panoramic views of the surroundings. Bjelašnica was one of the main venues of the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics. Today the mountain offers modern ski lifts and groomed runs for alpine and Nordic skiing.
In winter, snow lovers from across the region and Europe gather here. In summer, Bjelašnica becomes a popular destination for hiking, cycling and paragliding. Traditional villages on its slopes preserve authentic Bosnian architecture and way of life.
Local restaurants serve homemade specialities such as cornmeal pura, cheese baked under the sač and local potatoes. The mild climate and clean air make it ideal for rest and recovery. Nearby, Mount Igman offers beautiful sunsets. Bjelašnica combines the peace of untouched nature with the thrill of an active holiday.
