Kranjska Gora is Slovenia's best-known mountain resort, located in the heart of the Julian Alps. Surrounded by high peaks, it is a true paradise for nature and sports lovers. In winter Kranjska Gora becomes Slovenia's leading ski centre, with groomed runs of varying difficulty. Its best-known slope, Podkoren, regularly hosts the Alpine Skiing World Cup.
In summer the town is a starting point for hikes towards the Vršič Pass. Nearby is Lake Jasna, a turquoise alpine lake with beautiful mountain views. Peričnik, an impressive waterfall near Vršič, is one of the most photographed natural attractions.
Kranjska Gora is part of Triglav National Park, the oldest in Slovenia. Local cuisine offers traditional Slovenian and Alpine specialities. The mountains offer many activities, from cycling to paragliding. It is a destination that delights lovers of active holidays in stunning nature.
