Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia and one of Europe's most charming capitals. Set on the banks of the Ljubljanica River, it combines medieval architecture with modern culture. Ljubljana Castle, rising above the city, offers panoramic views of the whole area. The old town is a pedestrian zone full of cafés, restaurants and boutiques along the river.

The Triple Bridge and the Dragon Bridge are among the city's best-known symbols. Ljubljana is known for its green policies and one of the largest pedestrian centres in Europe. The Central Market, designed by architect Jože Plečnik, is the place to buy fresh fruit and local products.

The city offers a rich cultural life with many museums, galleries and festivals. Ljubljana is an ideal base for trips to Bled, Bohinj and Postojna Cave. Local cuisine offers traditional Slovenian specialities and excellent wines. The city charms with its human scale, cosmopolitan spirit and warmth.
